I am at the stage in my career where I feel I can add real value as a board of director member. The kind of firm where I can add value is a firm that has a legacy and a brand but needs assistance and energy to architect an innovation and growth path and then establish world class strategy execution to get there. Given my experience, I would not be a valuable resource for a pure turnaround.
I also could be of value to private equity in the role of helping them assess one of their firms at baseline and offering an innovation and growth roadmap as input to their thinking and decision making. I realize this usually takes investment to become a partner/board member but perhaps there would be a fee or sweat equity arrangement that might work for the private equity firm and StrategyBest.
